Privacy Notice

Who this covers

This notice explains how Gurinder Sidhu (“I”, “me”) handles personal information collected through gurindersidhu.com and gurindersidhu.ca, and in the course of providing real estate services through ReBest Realty Inc., Brokerage, and tax and accounting services as a Chartered Professional Accountant. I follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the privacy rules of my professional regulators.

What I collect

Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (if provided), the topic you select and your message. Submissions are delivered to my email by Web3Forms, a third-party form-delivery service, which may record the time of submission and your IP address to help prevent spam.
If you become a client: the information needed to provide the service you request. For real estate, this includes identity verification required by federal anti-money-laundering law (FINTRAC) and the records the brokerage must keep under the Trust in Real Estate Services Act. For tax work, this includes tax slips, financial records and your Social Insurance Number, which are required to prepare and file returns with the Canada Revenue Agency.
Website analytics: this site does not currently use advertising cookies or trackers. If analytics are added in the future, this notice will be updated.

How I use it

To respond to your enquiry and provide the services you ask for.
To meet legal and professional obligations, including record-keeping required by the CRA, RECO, FINTRAC and CPA Ontario.
I do not sell personal information, and I do not send marketing email without your consent.

Sharing

Real estate transaction information is shared with ReBest Realty Inc., Brokerage, and with the other parties needed to complete a trade (for example, your lawyer, lender, and the other side’s brokerage), as you direct. Tax information is transmitted to the Canada Revenue Agency and, where applicable, Revenu Québec. I use reputable third-party providers for email, document exchange and tax software, each bound by their own privacy and security commitments.

Retention and security

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for the periods required by law and professional standards (generally six years for tax records) and then securely destroyed. Please do not send Social Insurance Numbers, banking details or tax slips through the website contact form; once we have spoken I will provide a secure way to share documents.
